About: In the spring of 2014, I was honored to be named a member of the inaugural class of PBS Student Reporting Labs All-Stars. Student Reporting Labs is a program affiliated with PBS NewsHour that bring the professionalism of broadcast journalism to the classroom with help PBS mentor professionals. During the summer I traveled to Washington D.C. along with the other SRL All-Stars to participate in a weekend workshop that led to an interview at the White House with Colonel Steve Parker, the creator of the Joining Forces Initiative. I blogged about my experience for the PBS affiliate in Austin, TX; KLRU-TV.

“Despite Dedicated Volunteers, Food Needs Persist  Throughout The Region”
